'Curiosity (Killed the Cat)' was Little River Band’s debut single. Beeb Birtles wrote the song in London in 1974 when we were sharing a rented house. One day we bought a kitten at a local market. We named the cat 'Sparky' and Beeb was always playing his guitar while watching this wonderfully playful kitten. Beeb loved proverbs, and so 'Curiosity (Killed the Cat)' was born. Originally, LRB had recorded 'When Will I Be Loved' as our first single, but Linda Ronstadt released her version of the song
